The Chattahoochee volleyball team is red hot, currently riding a 15-match winning streak in which the Lady Cougars have won 30 out of a possible 33 games.

As a result, ‘Hooch sits atop the Region 6AAAA-North standings with a perfect 4-0 mark complete with a No. 3 state ranking. To date, junior outside hitter Emily Corrigan has been a huge catalyst in the Lady Cougars’ success.

The three-year varsity letter-winner has recorded 138 kills, 84 digs and 14 aces during her team’s 20-2 start to the season. Corrigan is a big reason the Lady Cougars may be primed to improve upon last year’s Class-AAAAA Final Four appearance and go even further in AAAA this year.

“She is a natural born leader that her teammates trust and respect,” ‘Hooch head coach Jennie Coniker said of Corrigan.

Highlighting Chattahoochee’s recent run are key victories over the likes of Sandy Creek, Whitewater, Columbus, Marist and local rivals Northview and Milton. Corrigan has played a lead role in each of those signature wins.

Coniker expects Corrigan to play at the next level, and the junior has plenty of time to improve upon her already impressive game before taking her talents to college.

When she is not on the court, Corrigan enjoys being active in her church and on the ‘Hooch campus, according to Coniker.
